WP doesn't recognize S2member pro

HI, Please help. I’m out of time and at wit’s end. I had the free version of S2member on my new site and everything was fine. I just upgraded to pro, followed all the directions and my site doesn’t recognize s2member pro. I need pro because I have people who already paid so I want to give them a 100% off coupon so they can register themselves on the new site.

I’ve been searching for over an hour and found lots of old forum posts from people with the same issue but no helpful answers.

  1. I have the same version of each plug in, framework and pro
  2. There is no double file. There was at first, but I saw the note and deleted it all and started over. I have the correct .php path.
  3. My extracted S2member pro only has one sub folder: src
In one of the forums it had a list of subfolders I should see but I don’t.

any ideas? I have people who paid for a product and are waiting for access. I’ve used the free version on another site with no problem.

Thank you for any help that is offered.

First, uninstall your current s2Member Pro folder.

Then follow the instructions here: https://s2member.com/kb-article/installing-s2member/

Those instructions do work. The only other way to install s2Member Pro is by using File Manager within cPanel. But that still essentially involves the same steps.

If, after trying again and taking it step by step, you still can’t get this working, you need to give us a step-by-step account of what you have done. Every instance that I’ve come across when this hasn’t worked has been caused by user error. We can fix that, but only if you make it clear exactly what you have done.

Hi,
I appreciate the quick response. The instructions look identical to those I followed–on more than one occasion. I already tried the deleting and redoing everything. The only difference I see is that when I extract the zip file, I don’t have those subfolders: s2member
s2member-files
s2member-logs
s2member-pro

The only subfolder I see is SRC. I’ve tried extracting several times and that’s all I ever get.

Any ideas about the lack of sub folders?

Thank you!

I can go through it all and record a screen cast…would that help?

The s2member-files and s2member-logs folders are part of the free version of s2Member, so they should already be on your server. If they aren’t, then you need to delete everything concerning s2Member and start again. You won’t lose any data.

If, on the other hand, they are on your server, then you’re good to go. The only sub-folder within the s2member-pro folder is indeed one called src.

Problem solved. I was copying S2member Pro to the global public_html folder and forgot to go into domains first. I’m very unfamiliar with WP file structure so it’s all new and confusing to me.

My site now says I’ve got S2member Pro so on to the next hurdle…

I really appreciate the quick replies and sincere attempts to help. Thank you, Tim!!!
