User unable to login for 2 days

I have S2 member pro

I’ve had massive problems with a member not being allowed access to my site. Initially she got the error message “max simultaneous logins for username try again in 30 mins”, defaulting to the login screen. but after that she was getting a server error:

She’s emptied her cach - only had one additional tab open - and is now mindful of not having too many tabs open, and is still getting the 503 server error 2 days later.

My unique IP access restrictions are set to allow up to 10 different IP’#s per customer - if limit exceeded punish for 1 hour only.

My simultaneous login restrictions are set to 3 - punish for 30 minutes only.

My understanding is that if someone stops browsing they’ll be considered inactive after 30 minutes anyway.

I’ve contacted my hosting company who says it is definitely s2 member causing the problem.

Can anyone help? I’m pretty desperate as I’m in the middle of an alpha test of my product.

Thanks in advance

That’s your problem right there. Unless you can 100% guarantee that your users will only be using desktop computers that are wired to the web (think office PCs for an intranet), this setting should be turned off. Not 10 IPs, not 100 – off.

Many thanks Tim, I’ve changed that setting - will see what happens. Really appreciate you taking the time to answer
