User immediately charged for membership when one year should have been free

Hey there, I have a form on my site that gives users one year free, and then charges them. A user says they used it, but they were charged the full amount. Two questions: is there a way to confirm which form they used to sign up with (in case they used the incorrect one)? And if they did use the correct one, why were they immediately charged?

This is the form shortcode:
[s2Member-Pro-Stripe-Form level=“9” ccaps="" desc=“Vendor / Facilitator Tier - 1 Year free / then $799 USD / Yearly” cc=“USD” custom=“URL” ta=“0” tp=“1” tt=“Y” ra=“799” rp=“1” rt=“Y” rr=“1” coupon="" accept_coupons=“0” default_country_code=“US” captcha=“0” /]

Hi Ruth. Did you ask the user which one he used exactly?

If you haven’t yet, could you enable logging while we troubleshoot this? WP Admin > s2Member > Log Files

If you had it enabled, could you send me your log files so I can study them, and tell me which user had the issue so I look up his entries?

If you didn’t have logging enabled, can you reproduce the behavior and tell me the steps? You can avoid paying the full amount if you use the same shortcode in a separate page, and modify the amount to just 50 cents (the least Stripe accepts).

Hey there,

False alarm… I tested it and it worked perfectly. Then I remembered we have a logging plugin and sure enough, I was able to see the user purchased their membership with the form that charges them for the first year, even though they swore up and down they hadn’t.

Thanks for your help regardless!

Thank you for the udpate, Ruth! I’m so glad you could figure it out. Great job!

That sounds like a neat logging plugin. Cool.
