User demoted immediately upon canceling membership

Hi there,

My understanding of s2Member’s functionality is that when a user cancels their membership, they will not be demoted until the end of their current paid membership (as stated here).

However, a user just canceled their membership, and even though they had a year left, their membership was automatically downgraded. What would cause this?

The differences I see to my setup that might cause a problem is I have it configured to be demoted to custom roles as this article instructs, but that article doesn’t state anything about modifying that behavior.

Also, I did notice that when I went to review my settings, the setting ‘Enable s2Member’s Auto-EOT System?’ was blank… Not turned off or anything, just no value was present. But then I’m not sure how a downgrade would have occurred at all if it was disabled. Any ideas?

There’s a problem with users cancelling within some hours of payment. If it’s 1-2 hours later it happened to me too already. If cancelled at least 1day later it’s always correct. Usually it’s no problem but sometimes it does happen.

Blank eot is another problem. It used to happen every few months for me but since 2 years or so never. In that case no one is demoted as the job doesn’t run.

Got it, good to know that someone’s else experienced this. Thank you!
