Turn off Comet Cache when updating plugins/themes?

In it, the author suggests it’s best to deactivate your caching plugin when updating WordPress.

Is that really necessary with Comet Cache? Does anybody do that?

I never do.

Indeed, I note that the article is undated and refers to Quick Cache, which was what Comet Cache used to be called a few years ago. So I think it’s just out of date.
