Subscriber can see pages

Hi,

I got my pages set to ‘Level 1 or Higher’ and i know somewhere in the settings, I got the menu hidden until you’re s2memberlvl1 or higher.

It does work but when i tried to ‘downgrade’ a user back to ‘Subscriber’ , that user was still able to acess the pages and can see them in the menu?

Jeremi L.

That sounds ominous. Menu items that are inaccessible to members at a particular level are hidden by default. So if it’s not working now, you changed something.

Have a look in Restriction Options -> Alternative View Restrictions

I think it’s my bad, pages arent setup correctly. no wonder.

all pages are now set to have lvl1 restriction and now if i go to the direct url, i can still view the content and access the page. what did i miss this time

Have you created a Membership Options Page?

I havent. Do i need that? sorry ive been a little bit confused.

here’s my process.

  1. we give the users the registration url
  2. user will have the subscriber role (cant view any pages)
3, admin will approve/upgrade the users to s2lvl1 (can now view some pages depending on what custom capability they have)

Yes, s2Member won’t do anything at all until you have created it. Please read the Getting Started section.

Created the page and linked it in the options.

Now i can put messages in there for members lvl0 right? using s2 if conditions.
