Sorry, your discount code is N/A, invalid or expired

I`m trying to set up a gift code free subscription that comes from subscribing to another site. Both sites have s2pro.

Here`s the url and gift code from the offering site
https://poise.us/aw-advanced-bonus

[s2Member-Gift-Codes discount=“100%” quantity=“1” one_click=“http://actingwill.com/try-it-now”/]

Here`s the redeeming site code on the
http://actingwill.com/try-it-now
page

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level=“1” ccaps=“try” desc="$5 USD / Yearly (recurring charge, for ongoing access to the try it now page)" ps=“paypal” lc="" cc=“USD” dg=“0” ns=“1” custom=“actingwill.com” ta=“0” tp=“0” tt=“D” ra=“5” rp=“1” rt=“Y” rr=“1” rrt="" rra=“2” accept=“paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo” accept_via_paypal=“paypal” coupon="" accept_coupons=“1” default_country_code="" captcha=“0” /]

When I click on the gift code it takes me to the page but I get this message Sorry, your discount code is N/A, invalid or expired.

I`ve tried it with the singular also, but it makes no difference.

Any suggestions?
Thanks so much,
Christopher

Coupons can’t be transferred from one site to another. So you need to create the identical coupon code on your second site too.

Are you saying to have two coupon pages?
One on the offering site and one on the redeeming site?
Those codes are different. Isn`t that confusing to the subscriber?

Thanks,
Christopher

No. Don’t create two pages, just one. Create two coupons: one on each site, but don’t make the coupon on the redeeming site available on a page.

This way the redeeming site will recognize the coupon when someone with that coupon (albeit obtained from the offering site) attempts to redeem it.

Here`s the code into on the offering site

And here`s the code info on the redeeming site.

Here`s the redemption page code

[s2Member-Gift-Codes discount=“100%” quantity=“1”/]
Here`s the page

https://poise.us/aw-advanced-bonus

The code is not active and when submitted on this page

http://actingwill.com/try-it-now/

yields this result

Sorry, your discount code is N/A, invalid or expired.

Excuse me for my ignorance but what am I doing wrong?
Thanks again,
Christopher

You haven’t actually supplied the shortcodes here.

here`s the redeeming code

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level=“1” ccaps=“try” desc="$5 USD / Yearly (recurring charge, for ongoing access to the try it now page)" ps=“paypal” lc="" cc=“USD” dg=“0” ns=“1” custom=“actingwill.com” ta=“0” tp=“0” tt=“D” ra=“5” rp=“1” rt=“Y” rr=“1” rrt="" rra=“2” accept=“paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo” accept_via_paypal=“paypal” coupon="" accept_coupons=“1” default_country_code="" captcha=“0” /]

Here`s the offering

[s2Member-Gift-Codes discount=“100%” quantity=“1”/]
Attached poise coupon settings is from the offering site

Attached aw coupon settings is from the redeeming site

error measage is
Sorry, your discount code is N/A, invalid or expired.

Thanks again Tim,
Christopher

I wonder if the problem is that your coupon codes contain spaces.

I tried setting this up to happen on just the POISE ( offering site )
All the codes works.
It just doesn`t work going to the redeeming site.
Jason and you have told me this is supposed to work.
So what am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
Christopher

Well, something must be different between one site and the other. If it’s not something obvious, like a different server, I’d simply delete that coupon and shortcode on the redeeming site, and copy and paste over everything from the offering site.

i checked
they`re both on the same server.

Here`s the pro form from the offering site

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level=“49” ccaps=“adv” desc="$39 USD / Yearly (recurring charge, for ongoing access)" ps=“paypal” lc="" cc=“USD” dg=“0” ns=“1” custom=“poise.us” ta=“0” tp=“0” tt=“D” ra=“33” rp=“1” rt=“Y” rr=“1” rrt="" rra=“2” accept=“paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo” accept_via_paypal=“paypal” coupon="" accept_coupons=“1” default_country_code="" captcha=“0” / success=" http://actingwill.com/poise-advanced-level-gift-coupon/"]

the following redemption code works on the above form

[s2Member-Gift-Codes discount=“100%” quantity=“10” /]

When I change this to

[s2Member-Gift-Codes discount=“100%” quantity=“10” one_click=" http://actingwill.com/try-it-now" /]

And turn off accept coupons on the above pro form

it takes me to

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level=“1” ccaps="" desc="$5 USD / Yearly (recurring charge, for ongoing access to the try it now page)" ps=“paypal” lc="" cc=“USD” dg=“0” ns=“1” custom=“actingwill.com” ta=“0” tp=“0” tt=“D” ra=“5” rp=“1” rt=“Y” rr=“1” rrt="" rra=“2” accept=“paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo” accept_via_paypal=“paypal” coupon="" accept_coupons=“1” default_country_code="" captcha=“0” /]

with the code entered but with the error

Sorry, your discount code is N/A, invalid or expired.

ive found an unsecure work around with the success=" http://actingwill.com/poise-advanced-level-gift-coupon/" in the offering site proform. That takes me to the coupon page on the redeeming site and works from there. I just cant figure out how to make that coupon
page secure.
Thanks again,
Christopher

i just notice this line you wrote

copy and paste over everything from the offering site.

If I`m not putting the redemption code on the redeeming site then what am i
copying over?
Thx
C

Why are you changing it to that? You can’t point a coupon from one site at another site. You need to follow the instructions. You can’t complain that it doesn’t work if you don’t follow the instructions.

What i understood was I could point a coupon from one site to another. i
took this off one_click=“http://actingwill.com/try-it-now
http://actingwill.com/try-it-now**”
and simply copied the code and it
still doesnt work. Im sorry for my part in this misunderstanding. What would be helpful is if
you give me the code that does work.
Thanks again,
Christopher

What would be really helpful is if you follow the instructions to the letter and don’t try to modify them.

Ok Tim
Let`s try that
But I need you to answer three questions.
Please respond to all three.

  1. Do you want to help me figure out this coupon issue?

  2. Is it possible to offer a gift code on one s2pro site that is redeemed
on another s2pro site, same server?

  3. If the two preceding questions are yes, then where are the specific
instructions to do this, that I can follow exactly?

Thanks,
Christopher

@chrismacor I am afraid you don’t understand how coupons works in s2M. It is not possible to create a coupon in one site and to use it in another (and no matter if you own both sites, and they are on same server etc). In real life you can not buy a cinema ticket and to go to opera, even the owner of the cinema and opera is same, and both they are in same city. What @KTS915 suggests is to read the rules carefully, and then to find your path. Or at least to ask meaningful questions…

Hi Krum,
Here`s the instructions I have received.

The simplest solution would be to create a form or something on the site
giving the bonus to issue a coupon code to be used on the coupon code site.
Then create a matching coupon code on the coupon code site to allow that
code to be used.

Coupons can’t be transferred from one site to another. So you need to
create the identical coupon code on your second site too.

No. Don’t create two pages, just one. Create two coupons: one on each
site, but don’t make the coupon on the redeeming site available on a page.

This way the redeeming site will recognize the coupon when someone with
that coupon (albeit obtained from the offering site) attempts to redeem it.

Sorry that I misunderstood a matching coupon code to be a code issued
from one site to be used on another
.
Where are the specific instructions for creating a matching coupon code?

Thanks,
Christopher

I think what we have here is a failure to communicate.

What was meant by a matching coupon code is that you should create the same coupon code on both sites. Then create something to share the code (perhaps with a link to the registration form on the second site) on the first site. On the second site, you’ll accept the coupon. You can force that coupon to be used in a Pro-Form by using the coupon="mycoupon" parameter (replacing, of course, mycoupon with your own coupon code). There is simply no way to “share” a coupon across sites: how would s2Member do that? ESP? With the implementation of the REST API in WordPress it is now programatically possible, but not directly with s2Member.

Thanks for the clarifications Pat!
Just to be even more clear
I would substitute for mycoupon the name that I have given my code in
the code slot on the Pro form coupon code configuration page.
Correct?
Also, is there a place where all these coupon instructions are written down
so I can get a clear overview?
Thanks so much,
Christopher
