Sorry, you have been blocked

I run a multisite so s2member protects the main site and the second one.

The main site (root domain) is fine but whenever I select SAVE ALL CHANGES on another blog in the mutltsite n the s2member options, the changes won’t apply and I get a page:

Sorry, you have been blocked
You are unable to access cf-prod.hostgator.com

Screenshot

Hostgator claims it’s on our end but while we use Wordfence as security, it is temporarily disabled.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?

I searched for “you are unable to access” and “you have been blocked” in the code and can’t find those. It doesn’t seem to be s2Member doing it.

Did you test to see if deactivating plugins takes away the behavior? Do you have a different site/server where you can try reproducing the behavior? https://s2member.com/kb-article/common-troubleshooting-tips/

So you get that message when you try to save the changes, right? It does look like a Hostgator thing from the message… Maybe it’s a login session thing?

I had disabled all plugins except s2member. I get the error only when"

  1. I try to save ALL CHANGES in the second site
  2. ONLY IN GENERAL OPTIONS, save all. All the others, restriction options, download options ,etc, work.

I also tried from another device.
???

Maybe some security setting that is being triggered incorrectly when submitting that form? Do you have a different hosting service to repeat the test and see if you get it there too? It does seem to be specific to your setup, I cannot reproduce this on my site, and no one else is reporting it.

Maybe it’s CloudFlare thing (fromthe cf in the subdomain), and googling the message you get, I get results related to CloudFlare, too. Maybe there’s a setting you can adjust inyour CF account, or use a VPN and try that page again?

I want to emphasize that it is a MULTISITE. I don’t know if you are attempting to reproduce on a multisite

S0 the main site is / and the second site is /campus

It works FINE on the main site.

NOT

Yeah, multisite, not main site.

It’s definarely Cloudflare. Have you tested with Cloudflare?

I have no option to edit, it’s just included with hosting with no control over it.

No, I didn’t have that particular installation set up with CloudFlare. I have just now pointed the domain to CloudFlare to test that, I’ll have to wait a few hours before the changes have propagated enough.

But if it’s a CloudFlare issue, then their support would probably be able to help. Saving s2Member’s settings is not special, even if it’s a wordpress multisite installation, CloudFlare should work with that normally.

It certainly seems like an odd error, especially that is doesnt affect any other pages like download restrictions, and all the rest.

Searching for the error message I see that it seems to be a common CloudFlare thing, and there’s many videos with tips to overcome it…

Can I give you admin access so I can rule out my IP (or rule in)?

Sure, use this email: support at wpsharks.com

You can ignore the email. I turned off Cloudflare at it worked. It takes time to turn off and turn on.
