S2Member Downgraded from Pro Issue

I recently discovered my S2Member plugin downgraded form Pro to to Basic.

  • The files for Pro were still in my website but the Pro was not enabled
  • Their was a message to upgrade pro to a new version but the quick update was causing an error. I had to download the new version and install from my local files.

Everything appears to be working now but I want to make sure I understand the following things:

  1. Has any one else experienced this in the past week?
  2. What are the possible causes of this so I can mitigate it happening in the future. (I only discovered the error because of another user of my site)

Hi Parker.

s2Member Pro is enabled automatically when its version matches the Framework’s. It sounds like you updated the Framework, or something on your site updated it automatically, so Pro got disabled due to the version mismatch. When you updated Pro up to the version the Framework is, then it got re-enabled.

When you update the Framework, also update Pro to the same version. If you have something that updates your plugins automatically, you need to update Pro after it, because that isn’t automatic.
