S2 Member not displaying on WP page editor

I have been using s2 Member Pro for over 3 years and just last month it stopped working. The pages now just show the short code text instead of displaying videos or file downloads linked to amazon s3. I have looked through a lot of the forums and support pages and haven’t found a problem similar to mine. First let me tell you what I have already checked; I have the same version of the s2 framework and s2 member pro and they are both the latest version, WordPress is up to date, and I have not added any plugins that could have made s2 break. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

I know you say it’s up to date, but what version of WordPress are you running?

WordPress version 4.9.1 and s2 Member Version 170722 + s2Member Pro v170722

OK, then it’s not caused by one of the bugs in 4.9. But my guess would still be that it’s caused by something extraneous, like something your host or Amazon has changed. I would also try turning off all caching and security plugins.

Could it have something to do with the PHP version I am running? I currently have 5.3.29

I don’t know, but I also don’t know of any good reason to be running such an old and insecure version of PHP. You really should be on 5.6 at least.

Nothing seems to be working. Any other suggestions?

There used to be a section at the top of the page editor where I could link my s2 files. Now that is gone.

I see you are using Visual Composer. That is almost certainly your problem.

I have been using visual composer since I implemented s2 member almost 3 years ago and have had no problems.

Then you have been extremely lucky, and are the only person I know with that experience. This forum and previous ones are littered with threads where users have found the two plugins to be incompatible.
