I am developing a wordpress site with protected content consisting of a directory containing a large number of non-wordpress files (HTML and JavaScript) that only paid subscribers should be able to access. How can I use S2Member to do this? The content must be protected not just from within the WordPress site, but also if someone types the URL of the protected file(s) directly into the browser. So far, nothing I have tried works - I can type in the address of the protected directory and go directly to the web application.

You could use the download protection. See: WP Admin > s2Member > Download Options
