Proforms no longer works with paypal pro

from May 2020 through to August 2020 I had the pro forms working with my Paypal Pro (apparently there are 2 different Paypal pros one uses payflow and the other does not?) either way I had all the proforms working. then all of a sudden they stopped working. I have been on to pay pal for months trying to get this crap working but it seems in Australia Paypal pro is not paypal pro… either way fed up with paypal so stopped paying them money and reverted back to paypal express. then all of a sudden the created their own subscription system that was separate to Paypal pro so now I just use paypal free to subscribe my members and all is almost good but how do I get S2 to communicate with pay pals new subscription system? and award the new subscription to the member in S2???

The buttons use a script format to basically apply the subscription. e.g.

Verses S2’s code

Are the S2 proforms able to be made to use the paypal online subscription and if so what in formation needs to be conveyed, I guess that the paypal IPN details need to be included as well as all the PHP checks but I have no idea how to implement this. Surely though to get this working would be ideal as the paypal account does all the hard work. Any ideas???

Hi David.

Yeah, PayPal can be a real pain in the neck. I feel for you.

There is PayPal Pro and PayPal PayFlow and PayPal Pro PayFlow Edition… What a nightmare. s2Member Pro integrates with Pro and PayFlow Edition, but not PayFlow.

s2Member Pro also integrates with Express Checkout, the “free” one, for pro-forms, and that’s what I use and still works.

In your s2Member PayPal Options, you’d ignore the PayFlow credentials panel. Complete the ones named: PayPal Account Details, IPN Integration, PDT/Auto-Return integration.

Then you can use s2’s PayPal buttons or pro-forms shortcodes.

I hope that helps! Let me know how it goes.
