Paypal Checkbox Form Paypal Standard v Payments Pro

Hi Everybody

Got myself lost with what is probably a simple answer.

Requirement 6 docs ( a,b,c,d,e,f ) available to purchase in any combination so using CCAP I would like a checkbox form.

So customers wants access to documents a,b,d which would then be a recurring PA fee.

  1. Is my thinking sound or is there a better way
  2. Using Paypal standard or do we need to Payments Pro (Stripe Maybe)
  3. Will it need https for Paypal or Just Stripe
  4. Would the customer need to registered before completing the form

If any one has an example of a checkbox form using CCAP that would help

I know first post lots of questions but S2 appears to be my best option especially the CCAP

Thanks

@s2-karl: Karl, I assume that PA stands for per annum, but what do you mean by “6 docs”? It’s difficult to advise when I am not 100% sure what you are looking for. I know you have described them as “documents”, but then what have they got to do with recurring membership?

s2Member Pro-Forms don’t do multiple purchase options as checkboxes, so this isn’t going to work the way you envision it out of the box.

If you want to accept credit cards on your site or for people without a PayPal account, you’ll need something more than “Standard” (PayPal has so many names for their accounts…). Stripe is the better option for credit card payments.

Both PayPal and Stripe require HTTPS. Even if they didn’t require it, it is a must have if you are accepting payments on your website.

Not unless you want them to make that a requirement. s2Member handles registration and sales at the same time.

Hi Tim

Thanks for the replay, PA yes Per Annum

Guess I should call each document a forum section let’s say the main subject is Music it would probably have made more sense, oops!

So our forum subject is Music, then genre HipHop, R&B, Rock, Classic, Blues, Opera.

The signup checkbox form offers all genres HipHop(A), R&B(B), Rock©, Classic(D), Blues(E), Opera(F).

The end user (paid subscriber) wants access to HipHop(A), R&B(B)

So our fee is HipHop(A) £5.00 R&B(B) £10.00 = £15.00pa as a recurring membership fee

I think that makes more sense in our scenario we have 100’s of companies with 1000’s of project managers that consult on given genres, we maintain the genre information so it’s legal.

Thanks Pat

s2Member Pro-Forms don’t do multiple purchase options as checkboxes, so this isn’t going to work the way you envision it out of the box.

Ok do you by chance have a solution in mind that might work or could you point me in the direction of somebody who could make it work.

Thanks for the other answers very helpful, yes Paypal seams to love generating new service options

You might be able to make it work with Gravity Forms (with the User Registration add-on), but I’m not sure all of the s2Member integration required for what you want could be done without some custom code. There is no “integration” between s2Member and Gravity Forms, but Gravity Forms handles most s2Member user_meta data just fine.

You could also do it with s2Member by using custom Pro-Form templates and code.

If you are looking for a developer, PM me, please.

Pat I did PM you - Thanks
