Only SOME shortcodes work

I have a page that loads only SOME short codes i.e.

" [s2If current_user_is(s2member_level2)]
Some premium content for Level 2 Members.
[/s2If] " (without quotes) or “[s2Get user_field=“first_name”/]” -Only shows text,

however
[s2Member-Profile /] works great

I’ve tried disabling plugins - cant figure it out

Are you using Visual Composer?

yes I will also try it without it

s2Member will not work with VC.

Thank you for that, but I disabled VC and I still have the same problem:

Welcome Back, [s2Get user_field=“first_name”/] !

shows up as text

[s2If current_user_is(s2member_level2)]

Shows up as text

[s2Member-Profile /]

Works normally

Did VC come with your theme?

Yes I am using Highend Theme and I’ve disabled VC

If you are lucky, just switching to a default theme will do the trick.

But (even with a new theme) you are probably going to have to rebuild you site from scratch, having first cleared your database of all the remnants of VC (and, perhaps of other plugins that came bundled with the theme) if you want s2Member to work.
