"Missing First Name, Please Try Again" upon submitting Registration Form

Hello!

My partner and I have just finished implementing your pro-forms solution on a site we are revamping.

The problem is that I receive an error message when I submit the form and it tells me

Even though I filled out the name field each and everytime. None of the “Registation Data” fields remain populated after I hit submit the first time. It DOES, however, retain the contents of all my custom fields. Why some but not all? Why the custom fields but not the mandatory standard ones?

Please Help!

The topic to which you link also provides the likely cause of your difficulty. You almost certainly have a them or plugin conflict. Follow the advice given there.

This issue was solved.

I’m gonna try to report an official bug, but in case anyone else runs into this:

I was customizing the registration template using the method described here:

In the process of debugging, I removed the reference to the custom template from the shortcode and it fixed our problem. I don’t know why, but that was it.
