I have an existing website with users and paid members (1 level) and a staging site that has been in development for the past 3 months. How do I users and settings.
I don’t want it to send any email confirmation to my existing member would like it all to be happening in the background.
Also will it import all the information including their passwords, thank you so much
If you are migrating the entire website and database you should be fine. If you are creating a new WordPress site from scratch and just want to migrate your users, please see these s2Member KBAs : http://s2member.com/kb/kb-tag/import-export-tools/.
Note: Import/Export will NOT import passwords. It will also not send any email notifications. Since the users will need to create new passwords, you might want to send them an email letting them know that this will be the case, however.
How would one transition users to a new site with their passwords? Does the standard Wordpress export include password hashes? or is the only way to move the passwords over to move the database itself? I’d like to try to build a new site from scratch and move the users over if at all possible.
