So I have a 7 day trial period on my site. Try for $1 for 7 days, then it’s $24.95 a month,
I have one member that signed up, then cancelled. Then came back a week later, signed up for the $1 trial and cancelled the same day.
Is there a way to prevent this? I don’t want people to be able to pay $1 whenever they want access, instead of becoming paying members
That’s an inherent problem with running subscription websites. You could write some custom code to deal with it, but you won’t be able to guarantee that you will 100% eradicate the problem.
Instead, the usual way of dealing with this is by content “dripping.” In other words, you make only a certain amount of your content available for the first 7 days or so, and then “drip” more later. You can carry on dripping for as long as you want to encourage longer subscriptions.
