Maximum failed attemps restriction

Hi guys

I m using S2member Pro

i ve set up : Allow 5 failed attempts (then punish for 30 min) for all my users however i would like to allow 1 IP address to have as many failed attempts as possible

how could i do that?

to make it cleared, i want all IPs except 1 to be punished after 5 failed attemps

thx so much

You’d need to have custom code or use a different plugin to enforce brute force login restrictions (iThemes Security allows a whitelist).

i already use Ithemes security

Did you check Krum’s plugins? I think that this one might be what you are looking for.

If it is only close to what you want, you can ask him for a tweak.

thx , i will contact Krum

If you are already using iThemes Security you should whitelist the IP there and turn off IP restrictions in s2Member. You should never have 2 plugins doing the same thing at the same time.

How do you turn off IP restriction in s2member? Just by clicking: Allow infinite IPs (All IP restriction r disabled) ?

I guess it s the right answer but always best to ask

thx a lot Jedi

The only stupid question is the one you don’t ask. Yes, just select Allow infinite IPs.

thx mate, you are the man

unfortunately, seems like S2 overrode Itheme

I disabled s2 Brute Force IP and restricted Itheme to 5 logins but noting is happening when i make 7 false log in :frowning:

Well, that’s not good. Let me do some research/troubleshooting. Might be a day or two.

all good now

thx again for your help
