Hi all - long term Pro user here. I’ve just had PayPal on the phone asking about whether our checkout is ready for the changes that Mastercard are adding on 15th June;
MasterCard has introduced a new 2-series to their Bank Identification Numbers (BINs). The BIN is the first 6 digits of a credit card number and identifies the card’s issuing institution. Up until now, MasterCard BINs have only been in the 5-series range.
MasterCard began issuing the 2-series BINs in 2017. The range is from 222100 to 272099. The new BIN range is subject to the same rules as the existing MasterCard 5-series BIN range. The deadline for compliance is June 15, 2017 to avoid potential fines.

How do I test for compliance?
PayPal’s systems are ready to accept the new MasterCard 2-series BINs. If you have implemented any logic in your system to recognize credit card BINs, you may need to update it to accept the new 2-series.
The easiest way to check if your site is compliant is by attempting to make a purchase. When prompted for card number start typing a number that starts with the new BIN ranges (Credit Card numbers for testing available at https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/payflow/integration-guide/). Your website should associate this number with MasterCard. If after entering the first few numbers, you receive an error saying “invalid card number” or similar, it is likely that your website is not compliant.
Is s2member affected by this?
