Limits to number of posts / downloads per subscription level

Can I set the number of blog articles and downloads allowed to be accessed by paid members from a field of protected content, according to subscription level.

Eg. Level 1 = 8 posts / downloads; Level 2 = 24 post / downloads; etc.

If so, how would I do this?

Thanks.

See Download Options -> Basic Download Restrictions

Upload restricted files to this security-enabled directory:
/hermes/bosnaweb05a/b1861/ipg.etc…

How do I access this, how do I upload?

I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. But if what you mean is how do you upload files to an s2Member-protected folder, then the answer is to use an FTP program, like FileZilla. Or, if you have cPanel, then you might be able to use a File Manager program.

Is it not possible to protect downloadable files which are already uploaded to my WP Media Library? If I have to upload via FileZilla, where would these files reside physically?

No. That would be a recipe for disaster, because that is needed for stuff that’s not protected too, as well as being used by other plugins.

You need to look at Download Options -> Basic Download Restrictions

Excuse my ignorance, but do I need to create a new directory for this, or does it already exist?

I’ve got FileZilla working and I can see all my uploaded files (in Media Library) but I can’t locate the directory /hermes/bosnaweb05a/b1861/ipg.etc…

Download Options -> Basic Download Restrictions doesn’t clarify this. Could you please be a little more specific as to where it is or needs to be?

Thanks for your help.

You need to look for the folder /wp-content/plugins/s2member-files

That folder will already exist. But if you want to create subfolders within it, as explained in Download Options -> Basic Download Restrictions, then you’ll need to create them yourself.

Thanks Tim!

I seem to have gotten this one to work, with your help.

I’ll be back, though, before too long with more dumb questions :slightly_smiling:.

Thanks again!
