I noticed my website wasn’t working since some time yesterday. When I visited the site the pages wouldn’t load. No error, just a blank page, nothing at all. I sought assistance through my cpanel (hostgator) who determined that one of my plugins was the cause of the ‘crash’ and subsequently disabled them all. I’ve then logged into my site and found that the only plugin to have run an update in the last 3 days or so was s2member 20 hours prior, which coincides roughly with the time that I noticed the site wasn’t working. I’m now reluctant to reactivate the plugin. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m running the free version. Thanks.
Latest s2member update precipitated my website crash?
There was a problem in s2M, which creates such effect for PHP versions older than 4.0, it depends of what PHP version runs your hosting. Now s2M is fixed, just install the newest version by FTP and site will be back up.
By php do you mean my WordPress version? I'm running WordPress v4.5 and had s2 member v160424 activated at the time of the crash/s2 member update.
No, @krumch means your PHP version.
PHP is the programming language in which WordPress (and themes and plugins) are principally coded. Ask your host what version you are running, or use a plugin like WordPress phpinfo to tell you.
