It's supposed to be an unprotected page but

I have one page that is NOT supposed to be a protected yet it is locked to level 2 members. It is set to default (0) in the “page level restrictions” window and I don’t have any page ID’s assigned in the “page access restrictions” tab in S2 member. I can’t seem to find where the page is being locked from. Does anyone know where else to look or how to solve this problem?

Thank you

If you mean that you have set it to “Require Level #0 or Higher,” that is neither the default nor unprotected. To make it unprotected, you should set that to be blank (which IS the default) and then hit Update.

Thank you Tim for your reply. It is set to blank (which I thought was 0). That’s why I’m confused. It’s set like all of my other unprotected posts but it is still locked.

Could you post the URL here?

Mary,

Thanks. My guess is that you have it protected for one of the following reasons:

  1. It’s actually a post or custom post type, and not a page.

  2. You have a protection set at level 2 by tag or category or URI that is catching this page.

Thanks again Tim for helping. I do know it is a “page” post type. It’s not tagged and since it is a page there is no category that I can assign it too. Thanks for your help. I’ll keep searching. If anyone else has any ideas I’d appreciate any help on this. Thank you.

I don’t know what you mean by “page post type.” If it’s a page, you have probably protected it under pages. If it’s a post type, you need to check posts.

I found the culprit!!!

There was one URI restriction for something else completely that was catching that page somehow. Once removed, all is fine. Thanks Tim for your help.

I’m glad you found it!
