How to copy WP Standalone Site into a WP Multisite Network

I am running a WordPress multisite network on the latest version of WP 4.6.1

I need to migrate a standalone s2Member WordPress site running version 4.5.4

The standalone s2Member (Free version) WP site contains:

  • 591 Posts
  • 9 post Categories
  • 526 post Tags
  • 327 media library files
  • 35 Pages
  • 1 Theme
  • 23 Plugins (including s2Member)
  • 1,259 Users (128 users are paid-for subscribers through recurring PayPal subscription renewals)

What is the best and easiest way to migrate the standalone site into the multisite network without losing the recurring PayPal subscription renewals? Note: the 23 Plugins exist in the multisite network and are at the same versions/release levels as the standalone site.

Is there a was to easily move everything over? I am very technically competent and can move everything manually, but I prefer to save time through automation, if possible.

Once I get the site moved I plan to upgrade to s2Member Pro.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Frank,

I have never tried this sort of migration, but I can make a couple of suggestions you might try:

  1. All-in-One WP Migration certainly supports multisite, and it’s been flawless when I’ve used it (though, as I say, not for this).

  2. Updraft Plus with the Migrator add-on. The UP developer, David Anderson, is one of the best around. You could always ask him whether his Migrator add-on will do the job for you.

Excellent. Thanks @KTS915. I will certainly reach out to @DavidAnderson.

Hope it works! Please let us know how you get on!

I posted a support message on both plugin support forum pages. Let’s see what responses I get…

@DavidAnderson did respond and said that his plugin might work but has never been tried. He said that this sort of migration is tricky and requires a lot of manual intervention and hand-holding.

All-in-One WP Migration plugin author did reply as well and said his plugin should work without any issues. So I plan to try it for this migration. I’ll post back afterwards.
