How can I customize the successful sign up message?

Hi,

I’m trying to customize the successful sign up message. It currently says, “Thank you. You’ll receive an email momentarily.”

I want to change it to something like: “Thank you. You’re almost there! We just sent you an email. If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your spam folder. Then click on the link in that email to set your password.”

There must be a way to do this, but I’m not seeing it.

Please advise.

Thanks. So no easy way other than installing the plugin? (We’re trying to really limit the number of plugins on our site…)

Yes, it’s possible, but it’s much more involved, and I never do it any other way.

In fact, why are you trying to limit the number of plugins? The idea that more plugins is automatically bad is just an urban myth. It’s all just code, and you can run literally hundreds of well-coded plugins on a WP site while barely noticing a difference. Both s2Member and Say What? are well-coded plugins.
