Having trouble with free subscriber renewal

Hi there - I’m hoping someone can help and thank you in advance for any assistance.

We have a bit of a strange situation with our website: http://gridironclub.org.uk

We have a basic sign-up page that’s the main, always public sign-up page for new potential members:

https://www.gridironclub.org.uk/membership-signup/

This works great.

We also have another page we created where we wanted to be able to email members whose accounts had expired so they could renew and regain access to the rest of the site’s pages.

https://www.gridironclub.org.uk/membership-renewal/

This page looks like this as it’s only visible to logged in members:

So when I go to the page, it redirects me to the login-page and then when I login, it then redirects me to the above page - all seemed perfect but then my client emailed me to let me know that the members (with free subscriber accounts) who went to that link and then got redirected to the login page (same as me) then were redirected to the original Membership Signup page at the top - this was accompanied by a long URL such as one like this:

https://www.gridironclub.org.uk/membership-signup/?_s2member_vars=page..level..1..page..1989..L21lbWJlcnNoaXAtcmVuZXdhbA%3D%3D&_s2member_sig=1506379386-b9c7c028bd9c305584510406ce720145

I haven’t a clue why this is happening - we’ve speculated that it’s somehow connected to EOT but I’m at a loss and can’t find anything in the knowledgebase about this so am wondering if anyone has any ideas?

If you need any more info, I’ll be happy to provide - this one has us stumped!!

Thank you again for any help!

Michael

That long URL shows that s2Member is working as it should be. It tells me that you have protected the page with an ID of 1989 (which I’m guessing is https://www.gridironclub.org.uk/membership-renewal/) at level 1.

The reason for your problem is that you should protect it at level 0 instead. Otherwise it isn’t accessible to those whose accounts have expired, which is why they then get redirected to your MOP.

Tim, thank you SO much! That’s fixed it - such an obvious mistake when I went to the page, totally overlooked it!!

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply and so quickly too, my client will be very happy!

Michael
