Existing Users Unable to Upgrade Accounts

I’m frustrated…

I currently use s2member Pro on my site so people can view their purchased classes.

HOWEVER, if they purchase a subsequent class when they are not logged in, the system can’t associate it with their account, and they can’t create a new account as they already have one (email is already in use).

This means repeat customers have a bad user experience 90% of the time. They don’t notice the PLEASE LOG IN link I have on every sales page (http://digiscraphq.com/oab for example).

It is a deterrent to them buying again :frowning:

So I need to go ahead and manually add it to their account.

It’s now to the point that I see a sale notification and am instantly annoyed, know I’ll have to go fix up their account. I even have an EU (existing user) or LO (logged out) code on the Paypal so if I see a name I recognise buy a LO class I know I’ll have to go fix is ASAP.

Do you have suggestions for how I could either avoid this issue or fix it in a more automated way?

Isn’t this really about your site’s layout? Your link is quite small and below the large callout box, so most users will simply never see it. I didn’t at first, and I was looking for it.

You probably need to move or redesign the link, and maybe resize it too.

Thanks for your feedback. I will change the link, but I was hoping for some sort of way to carry over the ccaps to a login page if the user has an exisiting account .

As you’ve seen, that will only happen if the user is logged in first. Until then, WP (and therefore s2Member) has no idea who the user is.
