Hi. When users log in, they are directed to the home page rather than their profile page. What have I done wrong?

You haven’t done anything “wrong.” This is how most people want s2Member to work.
To change it, go to General Options -> Member Profile Modifications and change Redirect Members away from the Default Profile Panel to No.
Alternatively, you can just leave things as they are and follow the guidance given in that section under the heading Giving Members The Ability To Modify Their Profile and use the shortcode [s2Member-Profile /] on a page. That is what most users of s2Member do because it then keeps members on the front-end of the site.
