Distinct memberships and number of memberships I can create

Good day,

I have recently bought S2Member Pro plugin but I unfortunately fear that using level for membership is not quite user friendly for the type of memberships I’m looking for and I would like to hear from you what you think if S2 Member is still the way to go and or if you would have something else to propose me (if you’re allow to do so on this forum !!!)

I am building a financial training website which will have many different kind of membership with no relation between them:

Student | Active Career | Business people | Single Parent | Retirement preparation | Senior people |

  1. Each of them will have specific contents not available for other memberships.
  2. Someone could pay two memberships at a discount price and then have access only to those two memberships.

Please correct me if I’m wrong

  1. using level means that I can’t easily create completely distinct memberships (unless I could create many level 1 membership for instance which does not seems to be the case). If I have one membership per level this means that level above will have access to the content of the level below.

  2. If my understanding is right, I can create as many membership as I have level, thus I’ll be mostly limited here since S2 members offer 4 levels.

Looking forward to hear from you !!!

Thanks

  1. No. If you use a roles management plugin like Capability Manager Enhanced, you can make the roles work in parallel instead of hierarchically. That will get you what you want.

  2. No again. With the Pro version of s2Member, you can have as many levels as you want. Just read the instructions within the s2Member pages to see how to set it up as you want.

  3. The main issue for you will actually be that you might want users to have more than one role. s2Member doesn’t support that as such. But it can provide what you want if you use custom capabilities (ccaps). Members can have multiple ccaps. Again, you should read about them in the s2Member pages.
