Creating a /URIs & Post Access Restrictions

Hi there,

Our company is current trialing S2 Member in order to move our current html site (based in Dreamweaver) over to Wordpress…

Basically we are just trying to find out if it is possible (once we have moved our Members content to a specific folder ie /our-site/members) to be able to then have a ‘Post Access Restrictions’ rule setup, so that each news story we have in the /members folder has a login or/a buy membership message under the 1st paragraph and image??

I know there’s a lot of options but just a bit overwhelmed after reviewing them all, but we do hope this is possible!

Thanks,
Chris H.

Hi Chris.

Yes, a big move like that, and a new platform, can be overwhelming. I’ll do what I can to help.

then have a ‘Post Access Restrictions’ rule setup, so that each news story we have in the /members folder has a login or/a buy membership message under the 1st paragraph and image??

You can do the the first paragraph teaser, but not like that. If you use the Post Level Restriction, the page won’t even load when the user doesn’t have the access, he’ll be sent to the Membership Options Page.

You need to leave the pages without restriction, and instead protect the content with a conditional. E.g… https://s2member.com/kb-article/s2if-simple-shortcode-conditionals/

If you have tons of pages, you could probably create a template for those posts, that separates the first paragraph and wraps the rest of the post with a PHP condition.

Does that help?
