Hello:
Is it possible to change the message that our members see when they purchase an item using a coupon code?
An example:
We are conducting a training course which includes a 1 year membership to our organization. When someone applies a discount code they get the message:
Discount: $100.00 off. (Now $200.00 for 1 year)
Because our members are primarily purchasing a course, the message is confusing.
What we would like to do is grab the values for the discount and the new price, and craft our own message.
E.g.
$100.00 discount applied. Final cost is $200.00
FWIW, we have only recently begun using ‘real’ membership software to manage the membership of our organization. I spent a lot of time looking for the right plugin to do this. After an expensive false-start with one of your competitors, we chose S2 and I’ve been impressed with its capabilities. As I researched the plethora WordPress membership options, all of the reviews focused on the bells and whistles, ease of setup, etc. I didn’t read one review that discussed one of the most important aspects of membership - it is a relationship between the organization and it supporters. Like the ‘Desc’ issue I posted earlier, the coupon message is an aspect of the software which, because it directly affects our communications with our members, we would like to have control of.
When coding, it is not possible for the programmers to account for the personae of the organizations which use their software. Generally speaking, I think you’ve done a good job giving your end-users control of these aspects of maintaining a membership organization.
Thanks.
