Catachable error

hi all… i am getting this error on

“Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_User could not be converted to string in /home/content/a2pnexwpnas02_data03/70/3394670/html/wp-content/plugins/s2member/includes/classes/utils-strings.inc.php on line 234”

on my accounts log in page when i try to login… any ideas why ?

@trinimoses: I did a little research on this and this particular fatal error seems to be most often related to a problem with the active theme. Could you try switching to one of the WordPress default themes (2016, 2015, etc…) to see if that resolves the problem?

Hi,… i tried with the default 2016 them… 2015 theme and 2014 theme… same error happens…

I thought it could be a plugin… but no luck… i am open to ideas.

My guess is that you have a problem with categories, tags, or taxonomies. Try deleting your menu, and any widget that uses categories.

If that doesn’t work, what have you been doing on your site recently?

i recently added a category tab to the menu… let me remove it and see.

i jsut remove the category menu and still same error… i am out of ideas

With that category gone, clear caches and re-save permalinks.

If still no good, I’d check all your other categories, tabs, and taxonomies. I’d also check any custom post types. Then clear caches and re-save permalinks again.

I did clear the caches and re-save permalinks… only thing to do now is to do a massive disable of all plugins
and go through them one by one… this is madness

Maybe replace s2M by FTP? Files can be damaged somehow.

And if this fix the problem, check for viruses.

ok… will try ftping the s2m files again.

Hi guys.

I’d like to ask whether this issue have been solved somehow? Any hint will do, really.

I see it with a fraction of users on a production site right now, debugging as we speak.

Thanks!

@madMax, this isn’t an s2Member issue, so you are much more likely to find useful hints just by using Google.
