Cancel PAID Membership Not Available

I have worked through setting up S2Member Pro for weeks now, and do like the software. Today, I am testing “canceling a PAID membership” before I attempt to launch my new business on February 1, 2016.

I created a Test Customer and used PayPal from my husband to create a FULL Membership with a one time fee and recurring monthly payment.

When I go to the page I created to allow cancellation, there is a message that says: “Nothing to cancel. You have NO recurring fees.”

Could this be showing up because their recurring fees don’t start for another 30 days?

I did search the knowledge base, but to no avail.

First, a stupid question: when you go to the page with the cancellation form are you logged in as the test user with the recurring subscription? (A lot of people forget to switch users.)

Second, did you create a recurring membership with a trial period? If not, exactly how did you create “a FULL Membership with a one time fee and recurring monthly payment”?

As far as I know, you should be able to cancel a recurring membership during a trial period.

Thank you, for the reply. It seems to be caused by the fact that the one time fee covers the first 30 days and the recurring fee doesn’t start until the 30 day period ends. It does make sense. If I have a customer that wants to cancel right away and get a partial refund for the one time fee, they will have to contact me. The contract they sign will have a prorated refund for the setup fee.

I’m ready to launch February 1st!
