BUG IN S2? URGENT HELP NEEDED new user email stopped working after s2 upgrade

I recently upgraderd s2 the latest version. New user email has stopped working.

  1. I am using wp-smtp. All emails with the exception of s2 are going out fine.
  2. log shows s2 not sending any emails
  3. custom passwords is disabled.
  4. I also tried a clean install with only 2016 theme, wp-smtp and s2. s2 still does not send new user emails.
    It appears to be a biug in s2.
    this is urgent

Will people on this forum give me a dollar every time they say stuff like this and it turns out to be wrong?

At the moment, you have no evidence of that at all. s2Member doesn’t log emails. So all you know is that emails are not being received. But you don’t know why.

Start by replacing WP-SMTP with Postman SMTP, which will provide not only the same functionality but also logs emails and provides some troubleshooting tools.

Just installed the plugin you suggessted. Registered a new user. No email from s2 is logged.

S2 previously worked flawlessly before the upgrade.
