Any ETA on a S2Member plug-in update?

Hi Cristían…I don’t mean to put you on the spot but I have clients on S2Member and will need to fork S2Member and upgrade it independently if there is no S2Member update release scheduled for May / June 2019.

Any ETA on your first planned S2Member up-issue?

No pressure intended…I just need to plan for my client management.

PS: The community and I certainly appreciate all the contributions you make to the support forum and will certainly be pleased to see the S2Member plugin back up and enhanced / supported again. Even if I fork and fix the software I will keep tabs on S2Member progress and contribute where it makes sense. My preference, though, is not to fork the software…that’s more a “last resort” solution.

Thank you, Tim, I really appreciate the kind words. Sure, I don’t mind you asking, it’s perfectly understandable.

I’ve had an avalanche of things come up to take care of, so speed hasn’t been as fast as I wanted these first months, but there’s steady progress being made behind the scenes, and gaining speed.

I plan to make the first release now in early May, so the version number will start with 1905 (you know the version format is YYMMDD). Maybe 19050… :wink:

It may not include a lot, but it’ll be a milestone, setting stage for more regular ones afterwards. :slight_smile:

Cool…to be honest I don’t have high demands for a first up-issue. My main concern is to see that the plug-in is updated to support PHP7.3 and WP5.x (remove all warnings / errors).

Our theme supplier MySiteMyWay dropped off the planet a few years back so I forked it and created BackStop Themes to keep it alive. So I know from experience it takes time to bring a legacy plug-in / theme up-to-date. I also know from experience that updating the software to support PHP7.3 and WP5.x is actually quite doable and worth the small investment.
